An Iraq War veteran who just narrowly escaped death in combat struggles with his new post at the Casualty Notification Office while anticipating his upcoming discharge in this military drama starring Ben Foster, Woody Harrelson, Jena Malone, and Samantha Morton. Will Montgomery (Foster) has spent his fair share of time in army hospitals, and with just three months to go before returning to civilian life, he discovers that his girlfriend back home (Malone) has decided to move on with her life. Crestfallen, Will discovers that his latest hope for a fresh start will be training to work for the Casualty Notification Office under the mentorship of senior officer Tony (Harrelson). As someone who had a close brush with death himself, Will isn’t sure that he’s the man to tell families that their own loved ones will never be coming home. Thankfully, in between his assignments, Tony offers a sympathetic ear and the two men form a bond that will ultimately help them to readjust to “normal” life. But once you’ve been in the thick of it, any true hope for a “normal” life after the military is just wishful thinking. Later, Will is drawn to the grieving widow (Morton) of a fallen soldier, a development that forces him to ponder the ethical dilemma of starting a relationship with a woman in such a vulnerable position. Today, TMZ is reporting that Vivid (the porn guys – as if you didn’t know) are releasing a Shauna Sand sex tape, but that Shauna is sicking her lawyers on the company claiming that Vivid doesn’t have her permission to release the tape, which she admits is actually just one of many sex tapes she has made with her current boyfriend.
“Yes I did make a sex tape with my boyfriend earlier this year. In fact I’ve made several sex tapes, but I certainly didn’t sign off on this and Vivid has no right to put it out. I am trying to get a hold of my attorney now.”
Vivid had this response:
“We were approached by a third party, who brought us footage of Shauna having sex with her current boyfriend and we were immediately interested in acquiring it … We’re comfortable with our legal position in releasing this footage.” (TMZ)

Season three of Californication ended with a punch to Hank’s stomch; or maybe his groin, to be more specific.
On the season finale, just as the womanizer chose to settle down with Karen, he received a surprise visit from Mia. The end result, and final scene, was of Hank being dragged away in handcuffs, as Karen and Becca look on helplessly.
“I always thought that it would be the right endpoint,” series creator Tom Kapinos told TV Guide. “That secret with Mia — the fact that [Hank] slept with her and Karen doesn’t know about it — is such a huge part of the show and was a huge part of the pilot. To a degree, by the time you get to Season 3, the audience had kind of forgotten about it. So it felt like the right time to bring it back. On another show you might wait to the end of the series to answer that question, but I always vaguely knew that’s how I wanted the season to end.”
Where does this cliffhanger leave Hank in season four?
Kapinos wouldn’t reveal any detailed spoilers, but did say:
“For three seasons, I’ve had a character who’s seemingly unaffected by everything. He skates through life, there are no consequences. I think what we’re going to be dealing with next season is consequence. At some point, that character has to be rocked by the choices he makes. That doesn’t mean the show is no fun anymore, but I think it’s time to deal with consequences of your actions.”
With Hank in the legal system next year, how will Karen respond? That’s a central issue, Kapinos confirmed.
“Can Karen ever actually get over something like that? That’s certainly what we’ll be exploring in the season or seasons to come,” he said. (tvfanatic.com)

Lucy, a writer of erotic novels who is uninspired unless she gets some new sexual experience, plunges into a torrid affair with Sloan, an arrogant bisexual, who has written a novel about a serial killer and whom Lucy’s husband, a publisher, has introduced to her. Lucy either fantasizes or recalls a sultry affair that she had once in Paris with a hood named Minter, who introduced her to the ultimate in sexual satisfaction. Lucy’s husband discovers his latent homosexuality, guided by his business associate William, who also has an affair with the sexually indiscriminate Sloan. This pretentious, would-be artsy film combines black-and-white and color sequences but ultimately is derivative and boring. (allmovie)
